The LORD is Patient

“This life is filled with sorrow and troubles here below, we’re often made to wonder just why it should be so”…an old hymn starts. Do you ever get into your mind how long will He allow this earth to keep turning with all that is going on?

I mean, you see what I see that is reported in the news, don’t you? Whether is via the tv station of your choice, the newspaper, or the internet, it seems to be all the same: doom and gloom. I end up spending my time watching reruns of Ducktales or listening to an audio book or something because I get so tired of it.

The saints that had long died even had this question. In Revelation 6:10, it says, “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?””

Now while we have not been martyred like them or even persecuted in the ways that they were, we sometimes want to ask, “how long LORD?…” don’t we?

Maybe it’s just me.

But just in case it’s not just me, please be encouraged to remember just how patient God has been with you. Remember that He sent Jesus for you AND everyone else. Remember that those other folks who have not given their hearts (minds) and souls back to God are in need of God to be patient with them…until He is not.

“For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16) God loves you. Remember that. Be blessed. – Jayly Jackson
