My Feelings…

As I was reading this verse, I begin to think that someone will take this verse and say, “see, I feel like all you have to do is confess Jesus as your Savior to be saved according to this verse”, taking it out of context.

Besides the context I would try to help them see that is there, I would show them that confession only brings you to the door of salvation and not in it (Rom 10:10).

I would also show them that He expects obedience to His Word (Deut 11:1, 2 Cor 10:5, John 15:14). That obedience includes following the way that God, not “my feelings” say we are to be saved (Acts 2:36-38, 1 Pet 3:21).

If someone truly loves God, they will put their feelings, their own beliefs and their wishes aside to follow truly what the LORD says, understanding that He never contradicts Himself because God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor 14:33).

This is also true about how we live outside of Sunday. This is true for how we think, act and dress (modesty is an issue because people have decided “but I feel that I look good in this or I feel that I look cute in this…but that is another lesson). This is extremely true about how we go about worshiping God.

We must always compare how we feel to what the LORD wants us to be doing, saying and how to present ourselves to Him and as representatives of Him.

Be blessed in this thought today and may God be with you. – Jayly
