Why not me…you?

The true to life events that are told in the book of Esther are truly amazing. Mordecai was specifically speaking to Esther in this verse, not to anyone else. But for me, this verse has great application in my life.

There have been times in my life that I could readily recognize that I should act on something, to take charge of or to lead in an area that I may not be as well versed in. But, it was my time…and often, I would hesitate to move.

Then, I would remember the words of Cousin Mordecai; “…who knows that you have come to this position for such a time as this?…”. This verse continues to help me shake off my apprehension and trust in God.

I have not always been ready to lead but I have often been in the right place at the right time…when I got married, each time we had a child, in several work positions and anything that is required of me in the church, to give a few examples.

But trusting in God is who has and who will, Lord willing, get me through it all. Whether there are failures/triumphs/disappointments/joys…all of life’s ups and downs. I have said it before and I will say it again, God can be trusted.

That is what ole Mordecai was saying to Esther, trust in HIM. Incidentally God is not mentioned in the book of Esther (or the Song of Solomon). But that does not mean that God was absent. Take some time today and read through the book, and you will see HIM all throughout. Take some time today and look through your life to recognize that God was “there” when you thought He was not. He is so good!

Be blessed in that thought. -Jayly
